Spring 2015 Camp Delany Recap

Hi All!  Sorry this has taken so long, I was out of commission for awhile, but I am back and wanted to let you know about our very special Spring Camp Delany! We had 3 nights of clear skies and only had to stop viewing when the icy dew showed up!  We would have had a 4th but the wind was so bad that it blew over 7 scopes.  Fortunately, there was only minor damage but still scary!  We got to see the International Space Station go over and even saw the Space X Dragon Cargo Ship following.  It was scheduled to dock with the space station at 7 the next morning.  That was quite a site to see!  We had great views of Jupiter, and particularly enjoyed seeing the shadow of Io travel across the front of Jupiter and we also had views of the Great Red Spot!  We did have some light pollution in the north though,  darn that Aurora!  For 2 nights we had  Aurora with long spikes going south! They were amazing. And, of course, we had great food and conversation!  Thanks to everyone for your help with the cooking and cleaning!  Now looking forward to the summer Hurricane Ridge Star Parties and the Fall Camp Delany Party in October.  Clear skies!
