For those astronomers looking for a great volunteer opportunity, our member John Goar is asking for help this summer with the night sky viewing program up at Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic National Park. He is especially in need on Friday and Saturday nights with help showing the night sky to the public. Telescopes and equipment could be provided if needed.
Speaking from experience, this is a fantastic opportunity. We had great time last August when our club went up for our summer Hurricane Ridge Star Party. We were amazed to see so many (I think John counted over 100) and we had an awesome time showing people, that truly cared about astronomy, the many wonders of the night sky. We had folks from 3 years old to over 90. Please consider this opportunity. It would be great to add to your volunteer resume!
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact John at firstname.lastname@example.org and please visit his website at olympictelescope.com.
